SEMINAR ON HUMAN RIGHTS - June 2024
A workshop on Human rights, Indian judiciary system and the constitution of India was conducted by St. Andrews college of Physiotherapy. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Manoj Wagh who holds Ph.D. in Political Science. The objectives of the workshop were: 1. To create awareness on human rights 2. To create awareness about UDHR 3. To create awareness about human rights protection mechanisms 4. To develop legal literacy 5. To create awareness on Articles 12 to 35 and 51A of constitution of India. The topics covered in the workshop were: 1. Concept of Rights 2. Meaning of Human Rights 3. Importance of Human Rights 4. Introduction of United Nations (UN) 5. Discussion of Universal Declarations of Human Rights (UDHR) 6. Examples of violations of Human Rights 7. Introduction of Human Development Index Report (HDI) 8. Meaning and Types of Constitution 9. Introduction of framing of Constitution of India 10. Explanation on Important features of the Constitution of India 11. Overview of Articles of the Constitution of India 12. Explanation on Fundamental Rights (Article 12 to 35) 13. Explanation on Fundamental Duties (Article No. 51A) During the course duration, printed notes were provided to the participants. At the end of course, a written exam was conducted and depending on the results of the exam, certificates were provided to the participants.
