FREE PHYSIOTHERAPY CAMP- OCTOBER 2023

Bone and Joint Health National Week is celebrated every year from 12th October to 20th October. Indian Orthopaedic Association has assigned a theme: Taking Action on Musculoskeletal Inequalities for the year 2022-23. On the behalf of Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, St. Andrews College of Physiotherapy conducted a Free Physiotherapy Camp in Khanapur Village, Khadakwasala. The camp was organized to provide awareness, examination, treatment, and advice to the community. The camp began at 10:00 AM and was graced by the presence of Sarpanch of Khanapur Village. The camp was arranged in the Aarogya Vardhini Kendra, Khanapur. At the campsite, different stations were set up and each student was allotted a job to do according to their knowledge and skills that included anthropometric measurement, screening of BP, weight, Height, and BMI. A thorough assessment was done and accordingly, a tailored physiotherapy treatment was given to the patients. Patients were also taught about the home exercises and do’s and don’ts to follow to alleviate their complaints. Patients were very happy and gave positive feedback about the camp. Indeed, it was the best learning experience and a chance to develop ourselves as an upcoming youth of physiotherapy. A special thanks to all the members of Grampanchayat and staff of Aarogya Vardhini Kendra, Khanapur who helped us to organize a successful camp.
